Look Towards Mountain Skygate

Author: Bai Li(AD701-AD762, Tang Dynasty)

Translator: Lei Fan 2016 in Chicago

Mountain Skygate is rammed open and cut through by River Chu,

Clear water waves roll east then eddy here.

Verdant mountains unfold themselves slowly, at my left and right,

As my solitary sail drifting afar from where the sun is arise.

天门中断楚江开,碧水东流至此回。
两岸青山相对出,孤帆一片日边来。
