Knitting socks – (A Conventional Title format from Yue-Fu Poetry Collection)

Author: Bai Li(AD701-AD762, Tang Dynasty)

Translator: Lei Fan 2016 in Chicago

There were great warrior assassins from Yan and Wu,

They tried to slay the Qin tyranny with lead filled zither and knife inside the fish.

They were willing to die for those who valued them,

Sacrificing their lives, just like a piece of light and trifling plume.

结袜子

燕南壮士吴门豪,筑中置铅鱼隐刀。

感君恩重许君命,太山一掷轻鸿毛。
