The Moon above Mount QiLian

Author: Bai Li(AD701-AD762, Tang Dynasty)

The bright moon climes up above Mount QiLian,

She is touring through the boundless ocean of clouds.

The mighty gale waves through ten thousand miles,

Pounding at the fortress that guards the Jade Gate Pass.

The majestic Han Army marches on Road of Baideng,

Empire of Bod Chen Po covets for our lands and lakes.

This place has been battle field for successive dynasties,

Soldiers go on to an expedition could seldom return.

The guard overlooks the border city from the tower,

Yearning for hometown, with gloom paints on his face.

While at same time, in the boudoir where his wife is at,

She signs and wonders when they can meet again?
