A poem composed when accompany emperor touring and lodging at Palace of Hot Spring

Author: Bai Li(AD701-AD762, Tang Dynasty)

Translator: Lei Fan 2017 in Chicago

The Twelve Generals of Royal Palace Guards,

Stand still in accordance with the constellations.

Moon of autumn hangs above the rustling ceremonial flags,

Colorful banners roll up with the night clouds.

All is quiet, although with thousand families outside,

Distinct music from the palace can be heard from the sky.

The sun is rising from the misty morning fog,

Lush verdant trees surround the palace in which the great emperor rests.

侍从游宿温泉宫作
羽林十二将,罗列应星文。
霜仗悬秋月,霓旌卷夜云。
严更千户肃,清乐九天闻。
日出瞻佳气,葱葱绕圣君。
